Infinite love

- By Tarun Tambe

Ours is a tradition that focuses on personal spiritual development. Buddhists strive for a deep insight into the true nature of life and do not worship gods or deities. We believe that all life is interconnected, so compassion is natural and important. We trust the relationship between humanity and God.

Although our tradition has developed many different customs and practices in different parts of the world, our faith in the following unites us Buddhists throughout the world; they are -

  • Three marks of existence
  • Five aggregates
  • Dependent arising
  • Karma and rebirth
  • The four noble truths
  • The Noble Eightfold Path
  • Nirvana

We deeply consider behaviour ethical only if it does not cause harm to one self or other. Following a lifestyle that means no harm to anyone is our main goal. Religion and lifestyle are one and the same for the members of our community.

For centuries the main goal of our community has been the welfare of beings irrespective of their kind or origin. Many before us have worked hard for the betterment of the society and we are proud to carry forth the tradition.

We pray devoid of any self-centeredness and calculation, relying strictly on great compassion. We pray to strengthen and open our hearts, and to benefit all beings. Our prayers have nothing to do with begging for personal worldly or heavenly gains; instead we pray to awaken our inherent inner capacities of strength, compassion, and wisdom.
